About The Normandy Party

Why do we call ourselves the "Normandy" Party?

On June 6, 1944, thousands of Americans stormed the beaches of Nazi-occupied France at Normandy during D-Day. This pivotal moment represented America's commitment to fighting fascism and defending freedom.

These heroes liberated Europe from Nazi tyranny, fighting through France to Berlin and ending the Holocaust, the systematic murder of millions of Jews, LGBTQ+ individuals, Black people, disabled individuals, and other minorities.

We honor their legacy by taking the name "Normandy Party." Just as those soldiers stood against fascism in 1944, Americans must once again unite to defend democracy and oppose authoritarianism.

Why do we use black and white stripes as our symbol?

Allied aircraft with invasion stripes

Before D-Day, Allied aircraft were painted with black and white stripes, what were called Invasion Stripes, to identify friendly forces from enemy aircraft. We adopted this symbol to show that we stand united with our allies against fascism, just as they did in 1944.

Why start a third party? Why not just be pro-gun Democrats?

While we share many beliefs with the Democratic party, they fail to recognize what they are fighting against. The party is old, weak, distracted and divided. A new generation of Democrats is rising, but party bureaucracy and establishment interests continue fight against them every day.

With Donald Trump's re-election, Democrats assume it is 2016 again. They are wrong. We assume it is 1933 again. Therefore, we must organize outside the Democratic party structure to better inspire and prepare Americans to oppose fascism.

Are we a spoiler party then?

No. Our first and primary goal as a party is to oppose fascism. Americans should vote for any candidate that is working to oppose fascism, be they a Normandy, Democrat, or Republican.

Are we part of or affiliated with Antifa?

No. While the Normandy Party is anti-fascist, we are not a part of or affiliated with the group colloquially called "Antifa".

Although we advocate for Americans to arm themselves to defend themselves from fascism, we do not advocate for vigilante violence against fascists. We believe that Americans should exercise their Second Amendment rights. That being necessary to the security of a free State, Americans have the right to keep and bear arms, which shall not be infringed.

Are we a militia or paramilitary?

No. We advocate for Americans to defend themselves; we do not arm or train individuals.
